The Sallie Mae 10K Run/2K Walk—Sunday, May 6
What:
The 24th annual Sallie Mae 10K, sponsored by The Sallie Mae Fund, benefits the DC College Access Program (DC-CAP). DC-CAP enables Washington, D.C. public high school students to gain access to a higher education. Since 2000, The Sallie Mae Fund has provided more than $1.3 million—from event proceeds, sponsorships, and grants—to help DC-CAP send local students to college.

Due to U.S. Park Service regulations, there will be no runner registration on race day.

Route:
The 6.2-mile foot race begins and ends in West Potomac Park on the Potomac River in Washington, D.C. and showcases some of the scenic sights of Washington along East and West Potomac Park.
The course starts on Ohio Drive near the FDR Memorial and heads down Ohio Drive, across from the Inlet Bridge, to Haines Point. After rounding the point and heading up the Channel side, runners turn around and reverse the course back to the finish line.
The course is certified by USA Track & Field (USATF) and is fast, flat, and friendly to any level.
Parking:
Parking will be available on the surrounding streets (Constitution, 18th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, and 23rd) and at the Kennedy Center. Please note that the Kennedy Center building and facilities will not be open until 10:00a.m. The center's telephones, vending machines, restrooms, and water fountains will not be accessible until then.
The closest metro stop is Foggy Bottom.
