The Sallie Mae Fund presents Paying for College, a FREE workshop in English and Spanish on completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
The Sallie Mae Fund encourages students and their families to get a jump on the Financial Aid Process at event set for Thursday, Feb. 26
KILLEEN, Texas, Feb. 12, 2004—Area high school students and their families are invited to attend The Sallie Mae Fund’s Paying for College, a free workshop on applying for financial aid and completing the FAFSA. The event, presented by The Sallie Mae Fund, a charitable organization sponsored by Sallie Mae, will be held on Thursday, Feb. 26 in both English and Spanish. One lucky attendee will win a $500 scholarship toward the cost of higher education.

WHAT: The Sallie Mae Fund’s Paying for College Workshop
WHERE: Sallie Mae’s Killeen loan servicing center, 777 Twin Creek Drive, Killeen, Texas
WHEN: Thursday, Feb. 26, 6:30—8:30 p.m.
WHY: Paying for College will provide college-bound students and their families with hands-on assistance to complete the FAFSA. All college-bound students must file the FAFSA as an important first step toward applying for financial aid and should do so as early in the year as possible. Students will be able to complete the FAFSA at on- and offline workstations.
To get maximum benefit from the workshop, parents and students should bring the following documentation with them:
- Income documentation (2003 tax return or estimate, W-2 forms, other records of money earned)
- Current bank statements
- Current mortgage information
- Records of investments
- Student’s driver’s license and social security number
- If possible, students should register for a PIN at www.fafsa.ed.gov prior to attending the workshop
