Did You Know?
- From 1994 to 2004, Hispanic enrollment in colleges and universities increased by 73%. However, only 25% of college-age Latinos were enrolled in college, and only 12% went on to complete a four-year degree. - By 2025, it is estimated that there will be a shortage of 16 million college-educated adults in the U.S. workforce. (Lumina Foundation for Education)
- Immigrants make up 12% of the undergraduate population — a percentage comparable to students with disabilities, Hispanic students, and African-American students. At the same time, only 23% of immigrant undergraduates who started college in 1995 completed a bachelor’s degree after five years. - The typical expected earnings over the working lives of four-year college graduates add up to $800,000 more than the expected earnings of high school graduates.
