Scholarships for career college students
The Sallie Mae Fund donated $50,000 to the Career College Foundation to establish The Sallie Mae Fund Imagine America II Scholarship Program. The program will provide $1,000 scholarships to 40 career college students, selected from a pool of 500 institutions.
The Career College Foundation, a philanthropic organization dedicated to providing scholarships, conducting research, elevating public awareness and honoring achievement in career education, will run the program.
Career colleges serve a diverse population of students who typically face the most significant academic and financial barriers in attending college. More than half of career college students come from families who earn less than $39,000 a year and 48 percent are ethnic minorities.
